Welcome to Walshaw Lodge a unique country retreat in Hebden Bridge. Accessed by a three mile private drive through the fairy tale wooded valley of Hardcastle Crags the house is located in the heart of Bronte Country with breathtaking views over the wild moors of the South Pennines. Walshaw Lodge is surrounded by some of England's most isolated and peaceful countryside yet Leeds and Manchester is within an hour's drive. It is the perfect venue for group gatherings of family and friends residential courses, workshops and corporate events.
Walshaw Lodge sits between the enchanting woods of the Hebden Valley, known as 'Little Switzerland' and the vast open moors, eternalised in Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights. There is a large network of footpaths and trails that can be explored and enjoyed right from your doorway. For keen country walkers, there are a variety of longer walks that have to be experienced. These routes are also great for keen off-road and trail runners. There are a number of great golf courses a short drive away. Hebden Bridge Golf Course is one of the only remaining moorland golf courses in the area. The views are truly spectacular and you feel like you’re on top of the world.
Walshaw Lodge - Sleeps up to 20 people. The ground floor consists of a number of spacious & inviting living areas. All the reception rooms have breathtaking views, with southerly or westerly aspects and are mostly panelled in wood. The first floor boasts 8 double bedrooms, 2 single & 1 twin. There are 9 bathrooms & 2 washrooms. There is also a breakfast kitchen with a wonderful hand painted decor. The house has garage parking for four cars and additional external parking space.
Walshaw Lodge is the ideal venue for a country house party. With its peaceful setting and wonderful views, it is capable of welcoming and entertaining guests for a variety of occasions. With 11 bedrooms and accommodation for up to 20 guests, as well as a number of larger communal spaces, Walshaw Lodge is also fantastic place for yoga retreats, workshops and residential seminars.
