A charming country inn on the eastern edge of the Yorkshire Dales, The Queen’s Head in the peaceful village of Finghall sits midway between the market towns of Leyburn and Bedale, within easy reach of Richmond. Dating from the 1700s, our cosy inn has original old oak beams and we serve a delicious range of locally sourced pub classics. Modern accommodation includes a large family suite and we’re just off the A684, easily accessed off the A1 and ideal for Dales family holidays, walking getaways, stopovers and for that perfect relaxing retreat.
All en-suite accommodation with Wensleydale views includes two large double rooms and a family suite with a double and twin room plus a separate sitting room area. Each room contains refreshment making facilities and homemade biscuits, alarm clocks, quality toiletries, Freeview TV and a DVD player. Experience the taste of the Dales in our hearty Yorkshire breakfasts included in booking, and in our delicious range of home-cooked cuisine served in the restaurant. Our meats, seasonal fruit and vegetables and freshly baked bread are all locally sourced.
Pretty Finghall village is truly idyllic with a 12th Century Norman church and village green. Our location offers easy access to a range of activities and attractions including magnificent Bolton Castle, walking centre Hawes also home to the famous Wensleydale Creamery and Middleham’s popular attraction, The Forbidden Corner. Private parking is available and dogs are welcome at the inn.
Celebrations, parties, private dinners and wedding receptions are warmly welcomed, with our spacious dining room affording views across to ‘Wild Wood’ thought to be author Kenneth Grahame’s inspiration for ‘Wind in the Willows’.
