A Victorian gentleman's residence, built in 1865 and situated in the glorious countryside of the Holme Valley. Sunnybank combines luxury accommodation with service and attention to detail to provide a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Surrounded by 2 acres of mature wooded gardens and with spacious car parking all rooms have been elegantly furnished and individually decorated to provide a delightful stay. They all benefit from the full range of modern facilities.
Sunnybank offers the highest level of service and is ideally located for touring or business visitors, offering first class facilities in pleasant and tranquil surroundings. Sunnybank is within easy access of Holmfirth's wide range of shops, bars and restaurants with many others just a short drive away. It's unique traditional cinema, with bar now acts as an excellent entertainment venue with first rate performers appearing live on stage. There is a no-smoking policy throughout the house and the house is unable to accommodate pets or children under eight years old (that's the children not the pets!) Breakfast is served in our oak panelled dinning room in front of a roaring open fire with wonderful views across the Holme Valley. Being members of the 'Deliciously Yorkshire Breakfast' scheme, we go to a great deal of effort to use local, high quality produce, from award winning sausages (No.1 in the country!) to the delicious organic honey from the hives of our neighbouring apiarist, Mr Brown.
Sunnybank offers a choice of luxurious and delightful rooms to guests. All rooms are en-suite and offer LCD TV's with integrated Freeview and DVD players, WIFI connection for laptops, tea and coffee making facilities, mineral water, hair dryers, crisp linen, top of the range pillows. The spacious Valley View Room can be set up as a twin, as a super king size double or as a family room with a third bed. The en-suite is a stylish marble bathroom with walk in shower and roll top bath. The Church View Room is a large double room with a quality king size bed, overlooking the valley and the church next door. With en-suite wet room which is furnished to a high standard with polished granite surfaces providing minimalist style luxury. The Garden View Room overlooks the rear gardens and patio area. Furnished with a sumptuously comfortable leather double bed and with crisp white linen and silk bedspreads complimenting the period furniture.
For that extra special party occasion, guests who book all three rooms over a weekend can take the option of dinner in the oak panelled dining room. Candle lit and warmed by the open fire, your Italian dinner will begin with complimentary aperitifs. For anyone who has spent time in Italy they may recognise the style and the quality. Whilst we are not licensed you are welcome to bring your own selection of wines etc. Pre-booking is essential!
