Based in Great Edstone this cottage is central to some of the finest scenery that Yorkshire has to offer. The accommodation sits on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, 2 miles from Hutton le Hole. Kirkbymoorside, a quaint market town, is also 2 miles away, providing for most needs, and just 10 minutes away are the historic towns of Pickering and Helmsley. Pickering is the home to the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway which has become well known as the setting for the TV soap "Heartbeat", as well as the the origin of the Hogwarts Express used in the filming of the Harry Potter films. Both Helmesley and Pickering have a calendar of events taking place throughout the year, including a steam engine rally, World War 2 weekend and a Wizarding weekend.
The cottage itself occupies prime position in the small village of Great Edstone overlooking the village green. It is well equipped for families, and also an ideal base for walkers, providing easy access to the Moors and the coast. There is an enclosed pretty garden at the back, with chairs, table and BBQ, and a small garden ideal for enjoying a balmy summer's evening. Parking for one car is available immediately in front of the cottage, with further parking availability in the village if required.
Accommodation includes double and twin bedrooms, with the option of using the top room (with restricted ceiling height) to allow for flexible sleeping arrangements. The bathroom is on the ground floor, fitted with a cast iron bath and a new retro style electric shower over. The bathroom is lit with an eco sunshine tube. The large living room is focused around a traditional feature log fire, ideal for cooler evenings. Comfortably furnished and with excellent entertainment options, you can be assured of a relaxing stay. The dining kitchen overlooks the garden, well equipped with a fan oven with ceramic hob, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and large fridge freezer.
The cottage is non smoking throughout, and one well behaved pet is welcome. Linen is provided, and logs for the fire are included. A cot, highchair and stair gate can be provided if required.
