Located at the the crux of The Howardian Hills and The Wolds we are the perfect base from which to explore the area. Fancy going back to nature without the usual hassle of putting a tent up, getting muddy and sleeping on the floor? Here at Jollydays you can leave your old damp tent and nylon sleeping bag at home and enjoy spacious living, four poster beds, chandeliers and sofas by the fire. Perfect for a romantic weekend or a holiday with the family, this is camping with a difference.
Forget overcrowded and noisy campsites, Jollydays offers plenty of space for the kids to burn off some energy in our spacious pitches located in 200 acres of woodland. You don't have to leave the site to enjoy the great outdoors, from dens and rope swings, to cycling and walking there is something for all the family. If you do decide to venture further afield, we are close to the North York Moors National Park as well as the coastal resort of Scarborough and the stunning city of York. The whole family can enjoy a day out to nearby Flamingo Land whilst there are a number of historic houses and gardens nearby for the less adventurous.
We have 5 luxury tented lodges, each being larger than most hotel suites. Sleeping 6 people they have hot water, wooden floors, rugs as well as cosy wood burning fires and toilets. There is a four poster bed in one room, 2 single beds in another, all with canopies and a sofa bed for 2 people in the living area (near the stove!). Our bell tents sleep up to 4 people on double futon sofa beds. A cooking hut provides all cooking facilities and storage space. Between the hut and bell tent is a large canvas awning giving you a dry outside dining/lounging area. Like traditional camping, our bell tents require you to use of communal shower and toilet facilities.
Although we are not licensed for weddings, we can accommodate for wedding celebrations and other 'informal' events. We can sleep a maximum of 50 people and hold another 50 guests (staying elsewhere) with a hired marquee. We work with caterers including vegan and vegetarian or can work with your nominated caterers. We do rustic feasts and also collaborate with caterers such as organic vegetarian restaurant Goji in York and local outside caterers. We also host a number of courses, from Yoga weekend to singing workshops.
