As you open the door to your exclusive apartment, keep in mind that more than a century and a half before, Her Majesty Queen Victoria walked through the very same doorway, as she arrived to begin her visit as the guest of the Earl of Carlisle to the glorious palace of Castle Howard, just a couple of miles away. This spot offers a private retreat as well as a perfect base for exploring the surrounding Howardian Hills on foot or the many Yorkshire attractions within a short drive. Each set of guests are greeted with a welcome basket of local, produce to begin their stay with a delicious taste of Yorkshire.
Platform 1 is a ground floor apartment with level access and sleeps up to 4 people. Beautifully converted to create a contemporary living space of the highest quality. Comprising of a very spacious lounge with comfortable sofa bed for two, Sky digital free-view , flat-screen TV, DVD player, WIFI internet access, underfloor heating and a traditional log burning stove. The kitchen is is designed to a high specification with everything you'll need. Including large electric cooking range, microwave, fridge freezer, food processor & dish washer. The double bedroom with en-suite has been designed with custom built wardrobe and side tables providing plenty of storage to take care of everything during your stay. During your stay, don't miss the private wildlife garden set on an acre of land alongside the railway line. The bird feeders in the courtyard attract every variety of the tit family, nuthatches and woodpeckers as well as the squirrels from the surrounding woodland!
