Just a short walk from Wheelhouse Cottage, the town of Thirsk offers pubs, shops, restaurants and attractions. Take a trip to Thirsk Racecourse, or visit the town's cinema or leisure centre for a day out with the kids. All necessary amenities are within half a mile of the cottage, and there are other attractions, including the World of James Herriott Museum, within easy driving reach. Thirsk Railway Station is just a short walk from the cottage, offering direct access to Middlesbrough and York, whilst those wanting to use their legs a little more can enjoy the area's many great walks.
