Swinton Park Luxury Castle Hotel - Masham
Luxury castle 30 bedroom hotel,with cookery school and spa, 200 acres of parkland and walled garden.
The hotel was officially opened by the Yorkshire cricketing celebrity, Dickie Bird MBE, following a complete refurbishment in 2001. Both the restaurant, Samuel's, and the hotel have enjoyed glowing reviews in the press at both local and national level, including The Saturday Telegraph, Conde Nast Traveller, The Observer, The Evening Standard, Hello Magazine and Yorkshire Life to name but a few.
Since opening, Swinton Park has been awarded 4 red stars (82%) and 3 rosettes by the AA and is listed in the Michelin and Good Hotel Guide. It is the highest rated hotel in Yorkshire and Cumbria and has also has been awarded Hotel of the Year 2002 (Yorkshire Life), Best Hotel of the Year 2003 and the Outstanding Customer Service Award 2003 (Yorkshire Tourist Board) and Excellence in England Hotel of the Year 2004 (VisitBritain).
Rooms Description
The bedrooms, are individually designed and decorated on the theme of a Yorkshire town, dale, castle, abbey or garden, according to the aspect of the room. All rooms are equipped with two direct dial telephones, a modem point, CD player, satellite TV, trouser press, drinks tray and coffee / tea facilities. Four of the thirty bedrooms are suites and the turret room is on three floors with a (steep!) staircase between. A lift serves both first and second floors. Four of the ensuite bathrooms are equipped for disabled use.
Specialities
Join Rosemary Shrager for a day or residential cooking extravaganza at her award winning cookery school. A wide range of cooking styles and techniques are covered, and all ages and levels of ability are catered for. The recently refurbished conservatory spa is available to guests on an exclusive use basis with a wide range of treatments. Children enjoy an indoor playroom, castle tree house and swings, with hundres of acres of space.

Directions
From the A1: Take the B6267 off the A1 signposted Thirsk and Masham and follow the signs to Masham. Once you reach the town centre follow the road past the Market Square and HSBC Bank. Take 2nd right onto Swinton Terrace, this road will lead you past Masham Golf Course and up the hill to the gates of Swinton Park.
