The Priests House near Bolton Abbey is a fine dining and events venue with real character, offering the perfect setting for weddings, celebrations, romantic meals and family and group getaways in the Yorkshire Dales. The Bunk Barn is adjacent to Restaurant and offers superb group accommodation, ideal for families or corporate events. Whether you join us for a quiet meal, a private function, a medieval evening or for a very special wedding day, this is indeed a special venue.
Opening times include evenings, normally Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and lunch except Tuesday and Wednesday. On Sundays a traditional Sunday lunch is offered, and booking is recommended especially on a weekend! Please do ring us for details on holding a private Medieval evening or other special function. The Priests House is located in Upper Wharfedale in what is considered by many to be the most beautiful of Yorkshire's valleys. Nestled adjacent to the impressive ruins of Barden Tower and the Barden Bunk Barn, this historic grade 1 listed restaurant and outside tea terrace has a fine reputation for excellent cuisine and has featured on television in 'ÂœThe Real Emmerdale".
The accommodation is a pair of adjoining barns which sleep up to 24 in 4 dormitory rooms. The barns are centrally heated throughout, and the main barn has 3 of the bedrooms, a spacious new kitchen and dining space furnished with wooden benches. A mezzanine balcony provides the information point and there is a pool table and a relaxing area. The other barn houses the washing and toilet facilities and one of the larger bedrooms. The barn has been extensively refurbished. Guests can either bring their own linen, sleeping bags /duvets and towels or these can be provided for a small additional charge. Pillows, pillow cases and bed sheets are provided and there is a supply of board games as well as the pool table for your entertainment.
We specialise in hosting wedding events and Medieval banquets. The magnificent backdrop of Barden Tower and the splendid Upper Wharfedale valley is an ideal location for your special day whether a wedding, civil partnership, naming ceremony or even for you to renew your vows. The Priests House has a civil wedding licence where ceremonies can be held in either the Stargazers Room or the Oak Room. This is ideal for the small ceremony and reception, where you will have the House all to yourselves. We welcome civil partnerships. Join us for a Medieval Night of fun and superb dining. Groups of 20-34 have the house to themselves.
