The Cross Scythes Bed and Breakfast Inn is located where the Derbyshire Peak District meets the city of Sheffield. Situated within 15 to 20 minutes from the centre of Sheffield and the Peak District tourist attractions of Chatsworth House, Bakewell, and the Hope Valley. Walkers are most welcome, and there are many stunning walks across the moors and woods from our doorstep towards Hathersage, Holmsfield or Baslow. The spacious and roomy nature of the 18th Century building has allowed us to create an intimate and sophisticated environment ideal for any occasion.

Established as a coaching inn by a local blacksmith, The Cross has been welcoming travellers since around 1820. We offer a fine selection of real ales that usually includes Timothy Taylors Landlord, Aberdale Moon Shine and Crucible Best. The bar is open daily from 11.00am till Midnight. We also have a large beer garden with seating for approximately 60 people. All major debit cards are accepted. Guests can expect a full Yorkshire breakfast made using the best local produce. Breakfast is normally served between 8.00 and 9.00am each morning, however early breakfasts are available on request. The Cross offers a superb evening dinner menu and delicious lunchtime meals.
