Chelmsford Place Guest House is our charming guest house owned and run by us for over 20 years. We are fully a non smoking B&B ideally placed in York with easy access to all attractions including York Minster and we're only 9 to 10 minutes walk from York's historic city centre via a pleasant tree lined riverside walk or the main road.

We have a selection of beautifully appointed guest rooms comprising: singles, doubles, twins, triples and family rooms, most have full en-suite facilities, apart from two rooms which share the facilities with each other only. All rooms are tastefully decorated and have full central heating, LCD digital freeview televisions and well stocked beverage trays. At the start of each day before you set off exploring this fascinating city you'll be served a hearty full English breakfast or an alternative of your choosing, in the comfortable ground floor breakfast room. Guests also benefit from free broadband wireless internet access.

We're also conveniently near to York University and supply free campus maps for visiting students or families of students. The guest house is fully fire certificated, and we have guaranteed free parking (essential in York!) and if you can't be separated from your laptop we have Wi-Fi access.

Please note we do not accept Stag or Hen Parties. If you require family rooms would you please specify how many children and their ages please. Thank you. We are min 2 nights at weekends and 3 nights on all bank holidays but occasionally we can offer just 1 night. Please phone for availability.
