Property Information

The Leeway is a 4 storey, Grade 2 listed building built in 1822. All of its rooms are ensuite and most have sea views. The guest house is less than a half a mile from the town centre and is well served for restaurants catering for every possible taste. The Leeway draws consistently excellent reviews from guests and is enjoying high levels of repeat business. For those unaware of what Scarborough has to offer, there is rich blend of history and conventional sea side activity. The historic castle is 7 minutes walk away, the pier and amusement arcades 12 minutes walk. For a quieter way of enjoying the area you can access the Cleveland Way which is 20 minutes away and will take you all the way to Whitby offering views of the rugged coast line that rival any in England. For the more energetic, there is surfing available 4 minutes from the front door. There is great fishing just 3 minutes walk away at the sea wall or from any number of specialist boats that work out of the harbour. Whatever your reason for considering Scarborough the Leeway, with its hosts, Sharon and Peter, will make your stay a memorable and enjoyable one.

Scarborough is Britain's first seaside resort and has been welcoming visitors for over 360 years. Still as popular as ever, Scarborough is a great place to stay for a holiday or short break, with the safe, sandy accredited North and South Bay Beaches being broken by a rocky headland on which stands a reminder of the past - Scarborough Castle. The resort offers first class attractions such as the award winning Sea Life Marine Sanctuary, Scarborough Open Air Theatre, Scarborough Art Gallery and the refurbished Rotunda Museum, along with many festivals including Seafest, Jazz, Bike week, Scarborough Fayre and the Scarborough Cricket Festival. The difference between a good holiday and a great holiday is the atmosphere of where you stay. Peter and Sharon will go the extra mile in making sure they create an environment that will make you want to come back to The Leeway time and time again. We cater for individuals and couples. For ramblers, walkers and cyclists, we offer group bookings for up to 18 people.

Specialities

We aim to provide our guests with old fashioned values of courtesy and hospitality supported by a clean and relaxing environment that allows them to either relax on the premises or explore Scarborough and the Yorkshire area. We would encourage potential visitors to look at the reviews we have had since taking over the hotel in late December and hope that they may reflect the views of people that have visited since.
