Situated on the edge of a pretty village near the spectacular Aysgarth Falls, this 17th Century Coaching Inn is perfectly located for exploring Wensleydale, and touring the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. The George and Dragon Inn offers great value luxury accommodation, fine dining, world wines and traditional ales all served in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Guests choosing to stay at this delightful inn will find themselves surrounded by the beautiful Yorkshire Dales countryside - ideal for walking, cycling or simply exploring. Nearby there are the breathtaking waterfalls of Aysgarth Falls, the interesting church of St Andrews and Yorkshire's largest lake, Semerwater, all waiting to be explored! Why not take home some souvenirs of the area's famous Wensleydale cheese!
The George and Dragon Inn offers guests a choice of seven ensuite luxury rooms. A four poster option is available for that romantic weekend away - maybe treat yourself to one of the 'Deluxe' room options with features such as 4 poster bed, walk-in shower/steam room, claw foot baths and luxury beds. Each bedroom has been individually inspired mixing period charm with contemporary luxury. Double beds have pocket sprung mattresses with Egyptian cotton sheets and duvet covers. Bathrooms range from walk-in showers to claw feet baths with under floor heating and heated towel rails. Luxury velour bathrobes and slippers along with complementary toiletries will ensure your stay is relaxing. Flat screen televisions, telephone and free wireless internet will allow you to connect to the outside world (should you wish to!). Complimentary tea and coffee making facilities are provided.
The George & Dragon has a wonderful Restaurant and Bar where the food enjoys a fine local reputation. Dishes are freshly prepared by our head chef and his team using local suppliers and ingredients. Roast Nidderdale Chicken Breast with smoked Applewood Risotto and Escalope of Salmon, Crayfish Tail Creamed Potato with a Tomato Coulis are just some of the dishes from our extensive menu.
