Enjoy fine home cooked food, traditional hand pulled real ales and a variety of wines surrounded by original oak beams, a cosy log fire and stone flagged floors. Stunning surroundings combine to create a true gem, in the very heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. In fine, warm weather, food and drink can be enjoyed on the terrace or beside the cascading Cray Gill, which fronts the Inn.
Formerly a Drovers Hostelry and dating back to the early 17th Century, the White Lion is a traditional Yorkshire Inn, open all year round to provide warm inviting and friendly accommodation throughout the ever changing seasons. Traditional home made food is served using fresh local ingredients from suppliers such as Jackson's of Cracoe for meat and Wensleydale cheese from Hawes. We enjoy a fine local reputation for Sunday lunch, for which booking is advisable.
