Thirsk Racecourse offers a warm welcome and a superb day out at the races for the family to enjoy. Thirsk Racecourse is used for flat racing between April and September and is made up of two sections, a straight course of 6 furlongs and the winning post in front of the grandstand. There is a good view of the whole course from the grandstands in all enclosures, almost entirely against a background of open countryside. All enclosures have covered stands for watching the racing, and there are ample bars, catering and betting facilities for eveyone to enjoy.

Thirsk Racecourse also offers a range of special events such as the Mothers Day family event. The Family Ring is ideal for family groups with children, and others who want to experience a day's racing at a bargain price. There are ample bar and catering outlets, betting facilities and a good view of the course from the trackside or under cover. It costs only £6 to get in and accompanied children under 16 go free! There will be 13 days of racing at Thirsk in 2011, so why not come along and experience the thrill of the races for an unforgettable family day out!
