Come and discover the history of law and order and enjoy a fantastic day out at the Prison and Police Museum.
Follow the Law & Order Trail around the historic city of Ripon. There ar three museums which together tell the story of law and order and provide an insight into the harsh conditions our forebears had to endure. Visit the Courthouse Museum now fully restored in its 1830's colour scheme, come along and stand in the dock and see how it migt have felt to be sentenced for stealing a loaf of bread... Visit the Prison and Police Museum to see the 'Doctor Who' style police box, sit in a Victorian Cell or sit in the stocks... Late summer will see the Workhouse Museum and Garden open its doors after complete restoration. A superb visitor attraction for all the family, school groups and more.
Open from 14th to 21st February and 1st April to 31st October. (Closed 22nd February to 31st March). 1pm till 4pm.
Extended opening hours during local school holidays to 10am to 4pm daily.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
