Eureka! Is the UK’s only fully interactive learning environment designed especially for children. Everthing at the National Children's Museum has been designed to inspire and help children find out more about themselves. This award winning museum features hundreds of hands on exhibitions designed to inspire children from ages 0-11 to play, discover and unlock their imagination. With a shop, gallery, cafe and childcare, it's a super place to visit! Eureka! Runs events and activities at weekends and during school holidays. From a trip to our own little wonderland to an alternative New Year's Eve party, there is something for all the family at Eureka!

Eureka! Believes that play is an opportunity to build relationships, to share, to laugh, to build confidence and learn together. Eureka! Eureka features a huge programme of activities and learning expieriences that are both fun and educational for all ages. Discover about your body and how it works... Discover how much you, your bones and the water in your body weigh! Look in the fairground mirrors at your strange reflections, Watch a giant heart beating, Listen to the sounds which an unborn baby hears and so much more! Twist, turn, hide and seek in Eureka!'s outdoor play area. Made from eco-friendly materials the PlayScape lets you connect to the natural world and experience and enjoy the innovative use of recycled materials. The Eureka! Cafe serves a selection of hot and cold meals and snacks every day from 10am to 4.30pm. Wherever possible food will be freshly prepared, ethically farmed, Fair Trade and locally sourced. The gift shop has a wide range of pocket-money toys, branded souvenirs and gifts for children.

Specialities

Eureka! Was recently named one of the top three Favourite Family Days Out by The Independent. There is a dedicated disabled vehicle-user bay 50 metres from the main entrance. Assistance can be provided if requested. A limited number of wheelchairs are available on loan. For anyone with visual impairments there is a full range of multi-sensory exhibits available. Museum information is available in large print and from Talking Maps on the ground and first floors and there is level access with a lift between floors.
