Welcome to Past Images, located on York's famous Shambles. Step back in time with us, whether it be to the Medieval, Viking or Victorian era, and let us create an image of unique quality which you can treasure for years to come! We specialise in period costume as well as contemporary photography. The Past Images service is entirely tailor made and suited to the customers needs. Choose from a selection of time periods, costumes, studio backgrounds and computer generated settings giving you unique professional photographs of your loved ones, friends or even yourself! We can help you with your outfit, position or where to look, but we welcome your own input too! All costumes slip on over clothes and tie at the back so there's no need to undress and they fit all sizes. Photos are generally ready for collection after an hour and you can order extra prints and souvenirs online.

Past Images was established in 2001 and we are a name you can trust. We are open 7 days a week and booking is essential for having your picture taken on weekends. We're also very busy on bank holidays and during school holidays, so book early to avoid disappointment! Bookings are done completely on trust so no deposits are taken, all we ask is that you let us know if you can't make it so we can give the opportunity to someone else. We open late on a Thursday evening, get in touch with us via our enquiry form and we'll fit you in!

If you're looking for something truely unique and memorable for a group event, perhaps a school trip, or a corporate event, then look no further. Why not have all your guests leave with a period photograph? Not only is it fun to dress up, but the resulting photograph serves as a wonderful and personal momento of the occasion. For corporate events we offer a nation-wide service. As we are fully mobile, all costumes, lighting, processing and backdrops are supplied. The costumes slip on over your own clothes so there's no need to undress! We have experienced staff who will ensure that all dressing and photography is done professionally and, in most cases, the photographs will be ready for guests to take with them at the end of the event.

As well as photograhs, we offer cards, stationary and frames. Why not have a look at our online shop where you can purchase unique souviners such as a photo coffee mug, a key ring or fridge magnet or even a wall clock! Photos by post are also one of our specialities. We can restore photos, create fairy pictures and other scenes and custom processes without you needing to be there, just send us in a photo. We also offer gift vouchers which are the ideal gift for a loved one or friend. We specialise in Victorian image photography, and cover York, Yorkshire, Whitby, Scarborough and the Yorkshire Coast.
