Based in the Yorkshire Dales this is the ancestral home of the Cunliffe-Lister family and is set in 200 acres of parkland, lakes and gardens. Swinton Park spa is an oasis of calm, a peaceful conservatory bathed in warm natural light with lush tropical vegetation. Lavishly furnished, this is a unique opportunity to enjoy a stately home experience, combining the traditional warmth of a family home with all the modern creature comforts of a contemporary hotel. An extensive range of country pursuits are available to guests, such as fishing, golf, falconry and off-road driving. There is also a busy Calendar of Events running throughout the year and a wide range of accommodation packages available. The exclusive use spa, is equipped with a sauna, jacuzzi and relaxation zone, and there is also a gym. The five treatment rooms offer a wide range of face, body, beauty and complementary therapies, using the [comfort zone], Jane Iredale and Jessica ranges of products. The restored Georgian stables are home to a state-of-the-art Cookery School, and also residential courses are run by celebrity chef, Rosemary Shrager with a wide range of day and evening courses running throughout the year. Robert Taylor, Cookery School Heaf Chef runs the day courses which include Fish and Shellfish, Butchery, Dinner Parties (three modules), Pasta making, Italian dishes and many more. The hotel has a civil licence for weddings and five function rooms equipped for meetings, team building events, conferences and presentations.

There are 30 en-suite bedrooms, five of which are suites. Each individually-designed room is themed around a Yorkshire town, dale, garden, castle or abbey and is fully equipped with modem points, WiFi access, CD player, satellite TV, trouser press, drinks tray and coffee/tea facilities. A lift serves both first and second floors. For a room with a difference, the Turret Suite is set on three floors with a (steep!) staircase between, complete with a Victorian rain bath and with splendid views across Masham and the Yorkshire Dales. For the ulitmate in luxury, the Wensleydale Suite is lavishly decorated with blues and creams and with a separate sitting room area and a dining table. The bedroom (6' 6" double/twin) enjoys a panoramic view over the lake and deer park. Themed on the dales, the rooms are decorated with handsome toile fabric and a lavish canopy over the bed. The sitting room also has a log fire which can be lit for those chilly winter nights.
