One of the UK's leading medical museums in Leeds. Fantastic family day out with lots of interactive exhibits to entertain all ages. Disabled access, shop, café.
The award winning Thackray Museum is one of the UK's leading medical museums which not only tells the story of medicine but also explains how advances in medicine change our lives. Housed in a beautifully restored Victorian Grade II listed building close to Leeds city centre, the museum is easily accessible by car and public transport and makes a great day out for schools and families. The museum exhibitions are spread over 2,500m² on two floors and there is lift access to all floors.
We have a range of exciting exhibitions throughout the gallery where you can experience the squalor of Victorian Leeds and find out how scientific discoveries helped to understand disease and revolutionise medicine. Witness Hannah Dyson's ordeal in the operating theatre when surgeons attempt to amputate her leg and find out what it is like to have a baby. The museum is also the perfect venue for your conference or event.
