Situated on the cliffs overlooking the picturesque North Bay, the Scarborough Bowls Centre offers superb facilities for the serious bowler as well as fun for all the family. Here at the centre families and beginners are encouraged to try a game of bowls with free help, coaching sessions, bowl hire and advice always available as well as refreshments, snacks and a licensed bar.
Enjoy fun for all the family at the award winning Scarborough Bowls Centre overlooking the picturesque North Bay. Enjoy a game of social bowling without the stress of playing in leagues or competition. For 2 hours each weekday 'Social Bowls' sessions for those who are new to bowls and want to improve their game or simply want to enjoy the social interaction with other players. If you are new to the game of bowls or would simply like to improve, Scarborough Bowls Centre offer free coaching courses of two hours a week for four weeks. All coaches are fully qualified and because the groups are kept small, you will receive personal attention. Bowls and Bowling shoes are also provided for free. This offer presents you with an ideal opportunity to try out a new sporting activity at no expense, with the friendly help of enthusiastic and experienced bowlers, in a first rate facility.
Scarborough Bowls Centre offers world class bowling facilities.The Centre now boasts 8 indoor rinks of World-class standard, after a major refurbishment in 2003 which included the installation of a laser-levelled green as well as glare-free lighting. The Scarborough Bowls Centre is unique in also offering 2 outdoor crown greens, in the adjacent Alexandra Gardens, on which is held the annual Gambart Baines Challenge Trophy. The centre also features a great range of value for money snacks and refreshments as well as a licensed bar and pool tables to enjoy. At Scarborough Bowls Centre there is a thriving under 18 section, with members joining from an early age. They meet for two hours every Sunday morning (Saturday morning during Summer months) when they enjoy practice games and coaching sessions with the centre's own fully qualified coaches. New members are always welcome. There is full disabled access to all facilities at the Scarborough Bowls Centre.
Competitively priced room hire - The fully equipped Alexandra Room is available for social functions such as weddings, celebrations, children's parties, funeral gatherings etc, as well as club meetings. It is also ideal for craft fayres, trade exhibitions and off-site corporate meetings and training courses.
