Visit the Yorkshire Waterways Museum and discover Social History exhibits demonstrating the life of barge families, the import and export trade, and the transportation of coal through the Port of Goole. Historic models of Goole ships form part of the collection and there is an interactive interpretaion of The ‘Tom Pudding’ story – and the compartment tug Wheldale. There's something to keep all the family entertained with Boat Trip available around Goole Dock at the weekends.
The Yorkshire Waterways Museum 'old gallery' includes the original aft cabin of the 1910 Sobriety barge that is moored at the Museum having been refitted for residential expeditions. A new gallery interprets the boat building industry and the story of Sail and Keel.There are sails that can be raised and lowered and displays, films and a selection of photographs from the archives. The museum also features a Humber Keel dating from the early part of the 20th Century. The barge is used for residential trips and is wheelchair accessible. It has accommodation for 12 passengers and has a trained and experienced Skipper and Crew. It is ideal for youth groups, schools, and elderly groups and private hire.
