See an amazing treasure chest of memorabilia and antiquities related to the world-famous seaman. The Heritage Centre is run by Reg and Anne Firth who possess a detailed knowledge of this great British sailor. You will find them interesting and informative about all aspects of Cook's life and career.
The Captain Cook and Staithes Heritage Centre have so much for you to see, discover and enjoy! Staithes is where the youthful James Cook had his first contact with the sea - something that set him on the path to become the world’s greatest circumnavigator and explorer. Discover 2 floors of models, books, manuscripts, letters, prints paintings, coins, porcelain, glassware and even 61 original Webber engravings, plus copies of the Harrison H3 and Kendall K4 maritime timepieces. The centre has a small shop where you will be able to purchase gifts, souvenirs and books, including the informative full colour Discovery Guides to Captain James Cook, Captain Cook Country and the hm Bark Endeavour.
