The Nidderdale Museum offers a fascinating insight into how ordinary people lived, in imaginative and realistic settings. There are sections devoted to Agriculture, Industries, Religion, Transport and Costume whilst he corridors are lined with photographs of local interest. Situated in the picturesque town of Pateley Bridge, North Yorkshire, this fascinating and friendly museum is housed in the former workhouse and is situated opposite St Cuthbert's Parish Church.
The Nidderdale Museum features 11 rooms which illustrate the rural life of Nidderdale in the recent and more distant past. Visit Nidderdale's living museum and see a Cobbler's Workshop, Schoolroom, Victorian Parlour, General Store, a range of Costumes from the 19th & 20th Century and discover the history of transport in the Dales. The museum also offers research facilities in the family history archives and also access to the library.
