Ingleborough Cave - Clapham

Ingleborough Cave is a fascinating show cave located in Clapham in the Yorkshire Dales which has been amazing visitors for over 170 years. The cave is a wonderland of sculpted passages and beautiful cave formations, with a well-laid out concrete path allowing visitors to comfortable and safely walk through the cave. An expert guide will lead you through the cave, pointing out beautiful stalactites and stalagmites and help you to interpret the features. As you reach the end of the path, you will see the cave disappearing into the distance and the far extremities of this system are still today not fully explored by cavers.

It wasn't until 1837 that the secrets of this amazing cave were revealed, following a flood which broken down natural calcite dams. The cave is open every day from February half term until the end of October and offers tours every hour. Adjacent to the cave entrance is a shop selling souvenirs, drinks and snacks.
