Are you looking for a fascinating day out in North Yorkshire? If you are looking for things to do in Wensleydale, look no further than the Wensleydale Railway. We run an authentic heritage railway serving the local community and tourists looking for a unique Yorkshire attraction. Experience how train travel used to be from the 1950s onwards, as you snake through the sublime countryside of the Yorkshire Dales on our 16 mile line.
As well as the journey and the experience itself, which is reason enough to enjoy a trip on the Wensleydale Railway, this is the perfect way to enjoy all of the idyllic towns and villages along the line, such as the classic market towns of Bedale and Leyburn. If you tire of the train, you can be sure of being within a stone's throw of some of the finest walking and cycling country in all of Yorkshire. Get in touch with us for more details.
Timetables services run over the 16 miles from Leeming Bar to Redmire (for Bolton Castle) and we also hold regular events.
All our stations have level or gently sloping access and we have adapted one of the carriages in the Diesel Multiple Unit. Celebrate a special occasion on the Wensleydale Railway by hiring a train, we can cater for between 10 and 100 guests.
