Whether you're staying in the area, live nearby or are just passing through, we're happy to invite you for a fantastic drinking and dining experience here at The Hare & Hounds in Burton Leonard. We're near Harrogate, Ripon, Knaresborough and the A1(M) for ease of access, though we offer a traditional experience in an idyllic Yorkshire village where we focus on providing a warm welcome and the meals you love, cooked the way you like. We've got cosy open fires, a bright and sunny beer garden ideal for a cider under the summer sun, and restaurant and bar areas providing space to enjoy what you purchase in a relaxed formal or completely informal environment.

You're sure to find plenty you love at The Hare & Hounds, from our traditional Sunday roast to our juicy steaks or our succulent fish of the day. Food is served on weekdays and on Saturday between 12pm and 2pm, and between 6pm and 9pm, and on Sunday we're open for food between 12pm and 7pm. We have set two-course and three-course menus, or you can pick and choose as you like. Of course, everything we serve can be accompanied by alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks including Yorkshire ales and local favourites from the Black Sheep Brewery.

Unique Features

Our menu includes starters, main courses and desserts to choose from. We've got everything from hearty home-cooked soups to our cheeses and smoked salmon. Delicious dinners include steak and ale pudding, braised lamb shanks, slow-roast belly pork, battered haddock and our salads. We've got jam sponge, crème brulee and our tasty white chocolate cheesecake, as well as a cheeseboard selection and our popular sticky toffee pudding. Our meals are all made from fresh ingredients that are locally sourced wherever possible. We also offer a children's menu of freshly prepared home cooked meals.

Specialities

Visit us on a Thursday to challenge yourself during our quiz night. On a Wednesday, join us for Steak Night and receive food for two, and a free bottle of wine. You can pick from fish of the day or our 28-day matured locally-sourced rump steaks - a great alternative to a mid-week meal in!
