Bettys York sits in the heart of the city on St Helen's Square, and is open daily from 9am to 9pm, serving a delicious range of traditional English meals and afternoon tea. Our elegant cafe in York has been welcoming customers since just prior to the Second World War when it first opened its doors. Brimming with character features including vast curved windows, exquisitely ornate mirrors and beautiful wood panelling, the cafe's design was inspired by the elegance of 1930s cruise liners.
Enjoy an outstanding range of fine coffees, teas, seasonal menus, delicious homemade cakes and quick bites. Bettys York branch features the elegant Art Deco first floor Belmont Room with a design inspired by the state rooms of the cruise liner Queen Mary. Regular events, musical entertainment and delicious pre-bookable afternoon teas all take place in the stunning Belmont Room.

Reserve your table for Afternoon Tea in the Belmont Room. Although we don’t take reservations in our café, pre-bookable Afternoon Tea in the Belmont Room at Bettys York is available every Saturday and Sunday from 12.30pm.
