The Fusco family welcome you to Royal Fisheries and Quayside Restaurant! Our family first started producing fish and chips in the 1950s in Pickering, North Yorkshire. In 1968, they moved to Whitby and bought the Royal Fisheries. Still situated in Whitby, famous the world over for fish and chips, our properties serve multi award-winning food. Royal Fisheries is a family-run traditional fish and chip shop and cafe in Whitby town. We produce top quality fish and chips, using only the finest ingredients. Very high grade fresh fish, bought locally wherever possible, is always used. Top quality potatoes are sourced for the preperation of our trademark crinkle-cut chips. As well as a takeaway service, there is a 50 seat cafe with table service. The shop is open all year, closing only for two weeks in early January.

Quayside Restaurant, located on Whitby Quay, specialises in traditional Yorkshire fish and chips, which are fried in top quality beef dripping using our own special-recipe batter. This licensed 80 seater air conditioned restaurant also features a takeaway. A family friendly restaurant, Quayside has a children's menu, high chairs and baby changing facilities. There are full facilities for the disabled, plus braille and large-print menus. There is easy access with street parking for the disabled right outside.

Unique Features

We are the proud recipients of three National Awards for Quayside Restaurant. They include; Les Routiers Café of the Year 2005; Young Fish Frier of the Year 2004/5 and now... Winner of Top Fish & Chip Shop in Yorkshire in the National Fish & Chip Shop of the Year Competition 2008. Royal Fisheries has been a holder of the prestigious Seafish Quality Award every year since 2000 and Raymond Fusco has continued a family tradition by winning the Young Fish Frier of the Year 2009 by following in the footsteps of his older brother Stuart who won the award in 2004.

Specialities

Quayside have been supporters of the Whitby in Bloom initiative for several years, and have won many awards for our floral dispalys which we make up ourselves. The Quayside was also awarded the Roy Castle Clean Air Award; one of the few places in Whitby to have done so. The Quayside has now been a completely non-smoking establishment since opening in 1999.
