Our restaurant and bar are located within York's city walls. Enjoy a pre-dinner drink in the bar area which has a contemporary feel, serving a range of spirits, beers, wines and soft drinks. Then move into our restaurant where our friendly staff are on hand to help.
Our head chef has created a range of menus combining traditional British favourites with modern innovations. We pride ourselves on fresh imaginative food prepared using local produce wherever possible. We are the ideal place to relax in after a busy day exploring historic York being just a few minutes walk away from the city centre. Visit the cathedral, the Jorvick Viking Centre or do a spot of shopping.The restaurant offers impressive, imaginative cuisine with attention to detail, value for money and attentive service.
Why not start with chicken and ham hock terrine wrapped in pancetta with green tomato chutney or pan seared queen scallops with ginger, soy sauce sesame oil and spring onions. For your main, you could have braised lamb shank with a rosemary and redcurrant jus on a roasted red onion and red pepper compote or a homemade 8oz beef burger with a hint of wholegrain mustard served with red onions with a Monterey jack cheese, tangy tomato relish served with chunky chips. For dessert why not try homemade syrup roly-poly pudding with a vanilla custard or Yorkshire cheese selection with celery, grapes and fruit chutney with oat wholemeal biscuits.
