The Postgate inn is an exquisite little pub built in 1860 and tucked into the side of a valley in Egton Bridge near Whitby. Noted for its friendly, informal atmosphere, good ales and excellent food and service, the Inn welcomes both locals and tourists alike. The Postgate Inn is set in beautiful surroundings alongside the River Esk at the bottom of a lush, wooded valley within the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors National Park. We are easily accessible from both the Yorkshire Moors and the holiday attractions of the Yorkshire Coast at Whitby, Scarborough and Filey, so why not join us after a busy day exploring?
The Postgate Inn has been recently refurbished to a high standard whilst maintaining many original features. Diners come from all over Yorkshire and beyond to enjoy our hospitality and to sample the excellent food which includes best traditional Yorkshire and time honoured British recipes with a hint of modern European influences. On the menu are the very best Yorkshire meats and local seafood!
Our traditional bar has comfortable chairs and benches in which to enjoy your drinks with us. It is well stocked with leading brands and food is served lunch times and evenings.
We also have 3 bright and airy ensuite rooms, 2 double, 1 family. All are newly refurbished with digital televisions and tea and coffee making facilities. Well behaved pets are welcome.
