The Redd Lion is a traditional country Inn situated in Richmond, North Yorkshire. The cosy bar features beamed ceilings and a little snug. We sell locally produced preserves and honey as well as confectionary, hot drinks and bar snacks. We serve ales including Black Sheep Bitter, Worthington Creamflow, Guiness and Thatcher's Gold Cider.

The village of Langthwaite leads to the tiny old hamlet of Booze. This picture shows the road at the start of the steep climb into Booze which was once a thriving lead mining community but now consists of a few houses and farms. The Red Lion has been featured in numerous films and TV series, probably the most famous being “All Creatures Great And Small” starring Robert Hardy, Christopher Timothy, Peter Davidson and Carol Drinkwater. The remains of leadmines are to be seen all around Arkengarthdale. The Romans were the early miners. The last mine in the dale closing around 1912.
