Welcome to the grade two listed George Hotel. We are situated right in the heart of the beautiful seaside town of Whitby on the North Yorkshire Coast. Everything you may want is within easy walking distance, from the marina and beaches, to museums and shops and even the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. We are the perfect place to stop off for a meal, drink, or why not both after a busy day in Whitby! Our friendly staff and comfortable surroundings create a welcoming atmosphere at The George Hotel. We also offer nineteen comfortable rooms, with fifteen ensuite and four non-ensuite. We have a selection of double, twin and multi-occupancy rooms, with single occupancy available at a supplement. Our lively hotel bar has entertainment several nights a week and we also offer a good range of wines & champagnes at affordable prices. We have two other quieter bars for a more chilled out experience.

The George hotel offers a wide and interesting range of music. Entertainment is on seven nights a week so you'll never be bored! We have numerous live bands, Keith's Kareoke, Discos and loads more, the fun never stops! And for the sports mad, you won't miss out on any sporting moments as we have Sky Sports and ESPN shown on four large screens and feature a full football schedule. If sightseeing is more your thing, the cliff top abbey that dominates ancient Whitby is well worth a visit. Alleys and narrow streets climb down to the busy quayside and you can spend hours getting lost in them. Whitby is often described as the 'gateway to the moors' and due to its proximity to the train station many visitors to the area use the George Hotel as a base for exploring the stunning landscape the National Park has to offer.
