David and Alison welcome you to The George and Dragon Hotel Restaurant/Bistro. We are a very unique place, created by combining the original 17th Century Coaching Inn with the adjoining rectory and Cornmill to create a stunning building in the sleepy market town of Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire. Sympathetically restored and refurbished, the G & D has a real 'olde English' pub atmosphere, a rarity these days and we are the perfect place to meet, relax, unwind, eat and drink. We serve top notch food, local real ales and a fantastic selection of wines. The George and Dragon Restaurant and Bistro is passionate about food. Many locals have said we offer 'one of the finest dining experience in North Yorkshire'. Our qualified chefs provide us with a wealth of talent evident in both the style and quality of our food. Food is served all day from April to October and lunch and dinner are served in the winter months. Join us on a Sunday for our delicious carvery, bring the whole family along! Local Yorkshire produce and home grown herbs are used to create our fantastic dishes in our own kitchens. We have a range of different menus including a la carte or table d'hote menu, or why not choose from our specials board?

The restaurant used to be the old brewhouse and therefore is cosy and welcoming. The bistro is just off the bar area and is the perfect place to enjoy a hearty meal of local produce. Fresh fish from Whitby, game in season from the moors and woodlands, Yorkshire farm fresh eggs, local Yorkshire cheeses, locally raised beef and lamb and even ice cream made only a few miles away provide the best of fresh produce for both menus. Our great flavours, stylish presentation and sensible portion sizes ensure no one leaves our table hungry!
