The White Horse Inn (Nellies)

This 'Sam Smiths' pub in Beverley deserves a special mention as it's unusually unique - it's all lit by candle light. Excellent food and real ale are on the menu here, and this pub has been in the CAMRA Good Beer guide for many years. The atmosphere is compelling with the gas light and old furniture.

Beverley Minster

York is not the only Minster town in Yorkshire - Beverley Minster towers (literally in its stunning two towers) over the town with its spectacular medieval architecture. Founded by St John of Beverley, the current building dates back to 1220. The style is Gothic again, similar to York Minster and has the distinctive gothic arches, naves and in addition stone and wooden carvings.

Beverley and East Riding Early Music Festival

The Beverley and East Riding Early Music Festival remains one of the cultural landmarks of the East Riding of Yorkshire, utilizing the remarkable architecture of the region to present an annual festival embracing some of the world's finest early music specialists alongside a series of illustrated talks and educational activities.

The Festival is funded by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council with support from Orchestras Live, Arts Council England, Yorkshire, The Worshipful Company of Grocers, Schroders and the National Centre for Early Music.

In 2010, the festival runs from 28 to 30 May at different venues throughout Beverley.
