Rochdale Canal Walks

Hebden Bridge provides plenty of opportunity to wander along its own canal towpath, taking in the delights of narrow boat travel. Natural and manmade waterways are everywhere in Hebden Bridge as are naturally old bridges such as the Packhorse Bridge in the centre off Bridgegate. The current Packhorse Bridge over Hebden Water dates from about 1510, and West End Bridge built in 1771/72. Walking the Rochdale Canal's towpath offers a relaxing and stunning walking route through the Pennine Hills. The canal's towpath stretch from Todmorden to Hebden Bridge is also particularly popular with cyclists.

The Calderdale Way runs alongside Hebden Bridge and Heptonstall taking in industrial sights such as Nutclough Mill, once a worker-producer co-operative called The Hebden Bridge Fustian Manufacturing Cooperative Society (founded 1870).
