Whitby Gothic Weekends Festivals Events Whitby Yorkshire Coast

The Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay area are fast becoming a top spot for live music in Yorkshire. Whitby Goth Weekends run twice yearly in April and October and the celebrated Whitby Folk Week runs annually in August. Other music festivals based in the town include the Moor and Coast Music and Arts Festival in August and up and the Whitby Live 60s Festival and 70s Weekend events.

Other events and festivals in Whitby's annual calendar include Whitby Regatta and Carnival in early August and the celebrated 'Spirit of the 1940s' Whitby weekend in April. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway also has a choice of festivals and events throughout the year including LNER Galas, Wartime Weekends, June 60s eekend and Halloween Weekend.

Whitby key entertainment venues used for this goth gathering are usually the Metropole Hotel in West Cliff, and other venues like the Resolution Hotel on Skinner Street, and the Walrus and Carpenter Tea rooms on Church Street. The main music venue for the event is usually the Spa near Royal Crescent on West Cliff.

August is a busy month for events and festivals in Whitby. The annual Whitby Regatta takes place in early August and sees a host of yacht races, rowing races, fun runs, car rallies, kids entertainment including puppet shows and fun rides, Red Arrows and Navy Displays and a Grand Parade.

Museums such as the Cook Museum and Whitby Museum usually get involved with linked events and exhibitions.
